Angkor - Ta Prohm - Tomb Raider Temple
Ta Prohm is a serious ruin and being kept as close as possible to how it was found in the overgrown jungle around 1920... allowing for Health & Safety issues, but only a bit!
The site was used for the location for the Tomb Raider movie.
We found it absolutely fascinating to see how the Banyan trees had taken over.... nature is a very powerful force. The photos give an overall impression.
We suddenly found ourselves with a new friend and guide... he was deaf and couldn't speak either yet managed to communicate really well and pointed out the particularly interesting features for us all the way round the site, taking us to see some hidden places which the big crowds were not viewing, a rare
privilege.
